Should I Start a Podcast? Let’s Talk About It.

Lately, I’ve been sitting with an idea that keeps tugging at me... starting a podcast. You know how sometimes a thought just keeps circling your mind until you finally stop and say, “Okay, maybe this isn’t just a thought, maybe it’s a calling?” That’s where I’m at.

As many of you know, I wear a few hats: doula, mom of six, artist, advocate, and community leader. My days are full, but my heart is even fuller. Between birth stories, motherhood journeys, and all the lessons that come with trying to balance purpose and peace, I’ve realized that there’s so much I want to talk about, and even more that I want to hear from you.

A podcast feels like it could be a way to build a real, ongoing conversation. Not just quick soundbites or social posts, but an honest exchange about what we experience as women, mothers, healers, and creators. I imagine episodes that sound like sitting down with a friend after bedtime. Maybe a warm cup of tea in hand, talking about motherhood, self-care, Black maternal health, healing from trauma, faith, and rediscovering joy.

But before I dive in, I want to ask you, what do you need right now? What conversations are missing in your world? Because here’s the truth: I don’t just want to start a podcast for the sake of creating content. I want it to serve.

Would you tune in to hear about the real behind-the-scenes of birthwork?

Would you want to listen to a mom talk about self-care that’s actually sustainable... not the Instagram version?

Would you want honest discussions about mental health, community, spirituality, and womanhood?

Here’s where I need your help... if I do this, what problem should it help solve?

Maybe it’s about giving Black mothers and families a space to feel seen.

Maybe it’s about providing education that hospitals and systems often overlook.

Or maybe it’s about reminding women that they don’t have to choose between nurturing others and nurturing themselves.

Take a moment and really think about it:

What kind of conversations do you wish someone was having out loud?

What would make you press play every week and say, “Yes, I needed to hear that”?

Drop your thoughts in the comments or send me a message. Let’s build this together. If enough of you say yes, then “Milli Mommi Radio” might just find its way to your favorite podcast app sooner than you think.

Until then, thank you for always holding space for my ideas, for your hearts, and for the way you show up for this community. Whether it’s through posts, events, or just a moment of encouragement, every time we connect, I feel reminded that this work matters.

So, tell me, should I start a podcast? And if so, what’s one problem you want it to help solve?
